I think the fact that so many people hate it so deeply makes it brilliant. It's supposed to be hated, annoying and make you want to rip out your consciousness with a spoon.

If you read the article in FHM magazine for April (It's an interview with the authors) they talk about how the love to annoy people in the office. interviewing kids for the show involves a process to see if kids can tolerate them and join in on the annoyance, and Vernon can repeat the same word over and over for 30 minutes...

So the more hatred and loathing you have towards the episode  may just proved the success of the creators to reach out and poke you... repeatedly... repeatedly... repeatedly... repeatedly... repeatedly.

1. Useful insight and metric. The key to PFFR's brilliance is in how they manage the boundries "pushing the envelope" type of humour. What you might see on the surface as misogyny & racism & nihilism is cleverly veiled poltical statements that are intended to open your eyes to how this evil is multiplied and supported by the media. But not just pure media, but doctored, pontifs governing social mores. If I'm reading PRRF correctly, they' know their audience,and they anticipate their responses in their shows.
3. My reaction to patience was merely to lower the volume and go back to my New Yorker magazine, and play it like background noise. Its more like a motif of my overall enviornment to have crap like that in the background anyway, so what the the hell! I'm much more the  fucking king of my apartment laughing my ass off at MTV suits more than antyhing. Who's going to hate a kid's show!? Play whatever you want.
